In their own words

“LivingSocial lets you catalog your interests, browse what your friends enjoy, and find others with the same interests as you. The sooner you get started, the sooner you'll be LivingSocial.”

Why it might be a killer

LivingSocial is a concise enhancement to several currently existing social networks. With over 77 million items already catalogued, this is a vast network of entertainment recommendations, as well an active forum to connect with old and new friends.

Some questions

How may lesser known items, such as independent films, be featured so that users may learn about entertainment outside of the mainstream? Are there any additional social networks that LivingSocial should be linked to? What other entertainment categories could be added?

What it does

LivingSocial is a network that allows users to catalogue their top entertainment picks, and connect with old and new friends based on these interests. Users log in and browse items in six different entertainment categories, including books, music, film, dining, gaming, and beer. Once they find an activity they’re hooked on, users add this to their profile, along with a quick review and rating of one to five stars. Through the millions of posted recommendations, users can read reviews from potential new friends, as well as browse the postings from current friends. LivingSocial is already linked to several social networks, such as Facebook and Bebo, so sharing music, film, and restaurant suggestions is kept simple and seamless.
